Instagram is planning to hide the likes count on an individuals post on Instagram. This means that the number of likes on an individual’s post will be hidden from the audience (public).
This was spotted by Jane Wong, who often spots hidden changes in social media applications.
Instagram is testing hiding like count from audiences,
as stated in the app: “We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get” pic.twitter.com/MN7woHowVN

According to Instagram, they want users to shift their focus from the number of likes they get on a post, and focus on the share they get.
We don’t have any info on when the feature will be rolled out, but once it’s rolled, audience will not be able to see the number of like an individual get on his post, only the person who shares a post will be able to do so.
