Infinix has finally entered the TV market with the release of their Infinix TV S1. The Hong Kong-based technology company launched the Smart TV Series in Nigeria as they look to compete with other TV makers in the country.
The Infinix TV S1 is available in 43-inch and 55-inch. We’ll be reviewing both sizes of the Smart TV in this article.
Infinix Smart TV S1 Review
The design of both TVs is nothing new in the world of Smart TV. Though it looks elegant and well crafted. The design is frameless (which is called baseless in smartphone) and creates an immersive visual wide viewing experience. The frame and body is made up of metal while the mainboard cover is plastic as well as the stand.
They both have two 10W full-range speakers which will suit all of your desired media contents like Netflix and YouTube. The remote control of the TV has a minimalist design to it. It is smooth, sleek and easy to hold on your palm comfortably. It features a Wide Voltage Range design. This is useful when you have an unstable voltage of above 90V or below 264V. With this, the TV is able to continue operating flawlessly without damaging or even malfunctioning.
The display of both Infinix TVs is somewhat different. The 43-inch features HDR (High Dynamic Range) for standard picture quality.
The HDR provides a well detailed, lifelike colour and a contrast with a wider range. It also features 250nits brightness, 5000:1 contrast ratio, 8ms response time and 60Hz frame rate. The 55-inch TV also features HDR but adds in 4K Ultra-HD resolution to its display. This means you’re in for a breathtakingly immersive viewing experience with deeper contrasts and ultra-rich colours.
Other display features of the 55-inch are 6.5ms response time, 60Hz refresh rate, 3000:1 contrast ratio and 300nits brightness.
Infinix Lite App
As a Smart TV, it features the Infinix Life App which allows it to interact seamlessly with your Infinix smartphone. The app on your smartphone features a remote control, cast via Wi-Fi, cast via hotspot, Mirror TV, Mirror phone, Mouse and Wristband.
With just a click, you can mirror/cast your Infinix smartphone display to the Smart TV. You can do this with the hotspot and it won’t consume any data. This feature is essential especially when you want to watch a movie you’ve on your phone with friends or family. The bigger display on the Smart TV means everybody can sit comfortably and enjoy the experience.
The mouse in the Infinix Life App is connected via either hotspot or Wi-Fi. It uses your Infinix smartphone as an air cursor pointer. And for it to work, your Infinix phone must be equipped with a gyroscope. The remote in the app can be used to control the Smart TV if you can’t see or locate the physical remote control. You can adjust the volume, choose apps and perform other functions on the e-remote.
